The 1850 Census of Russell County, Alabama shows two Smyrl families residing in the John Parker Smyrl Household.  John Parker and Rebecca Kirkley Smyrl's children were: Thomas, John K., Robert R., William R, James Dunlap, and Hugh.

The other children in the household (Thomas J., Mary, William, Rebecca, Nancy and John) are the children of John Parker Smyrl's brother. Notes on this family can be found by clicking on he picture of James Thomas Smyrl or Elizabeth Smyrl Sullivan.  I have the following info on thee six children.
